DefendAir — A Complete, Layered Counter-UAS Solution for Modern Threats

DefendAir is a Multi-layered soft-hard kill Counter-UAS system that utilizes a patent net launcher against hostile drones, enabling safe urban environments and minimizing collateral damage.

DefendAir offers a comprehensive solution for strategic military bases, critical infrastructure, government buildings, VIP Protection, and infantry soldiers The DefendAir operational concept harnesses existing technologies such as detection, C2, and RF systems

The Handheld Net launcher

  • Precision net-capture that neutralizes drones without harming surrounding assets
  • Fast reaction time for teams on foot or patrolling perimeters
  • Ease of use, enabling quick training and safe operation in crowded or sensitive areas
  • A non-kinetic, compliance-friendly alternative to traditional C-UAS methods

Whether used by law enforcement, military units, or event-security teams, the Handheld system provides direct, operator-level control for close-range engagements.

Point Protection Configuration -The video also demonstrates the Point Protection setup, designed to safeguard specific high-value targets and assets

This configuration creates a localized defensive bubble, enabling teams to

  • Maintain a controlled security perimeter
  • Detect and intercept threats at short range
  • Position Handheld operators strategically for maximum coverage
  • Deploy scalable layers of protection depending on scenario and risk level

Point Protection is ideal for situations where fast response, minimal collateral risk, and high precision are mission-critical.

ParaZero: A Story of Innovation

By Videos

ParaZero was established in 2014 by two entrepreneurs in the desert city of Be’er Sheva, located in southern Israel.

Amir and Ran were the first in Israel to offer aerial photography and videography using drones such as the old DJI S800 and S900 models. One day, while preparing for a shoot at one of Israel’s largest music festivals, they experienced a life-threatening incident. During a routine practice session, the drone malfunctioned and crashed, missing Amir by just a meter (approximately three feet). Thanks to Ran’s swift reaction, Amir was able to duck and avoid the collision. However, the equipment was destroyed, resulting in a loss of hundreds of thousands of dollars.

This harrowing experience was Amir and Ran’s “aha moment.” It drove them to develop the world’s first parachute recovery system (PRS) for commercial unmanned systems.

Since then, ParaZero has created parachute recovery systems for the DJI lineup and developed the capability to custom-integrate its parachute technology into drones ranging from 1 kilogram to 1 ton. With over 10,000 operational units deployed across five continents, ParaZero has become a global leader in drone safety.

The company’s solutions have helped the drone industry grow by enabling operators to perform missions over people (OOP) and beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS). For instance, the first time the Super Bowl was filmed using a drone, it carried a ParaZero SafeAir system on board.

ParaZero is at the forefront of the transition to the “Drone Era,” providing parachute recovery systems for the consumer drone market while also enabling urban air mobility (UAM) systems to meet safety and regulatory requirements.

In response to geopolitical developments, including military campaigns in the Middle East and the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, ParaZero announced 2024 its entry into the defense market. By leveraging its patent-protected technology, the company set course to develop Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (CUAS) solutions and has already secured orders from Tier-1 international defense companies.

ParaZero’s vision is to use its SafeAir drone safety technology to unlock the full potential of the commercial UAS industry. By enhancing operational safety, mitigating risks, and enabling organizations to achieve regulatory approvals, ParaZero is enabling advanced drone operations and shaping the future of the UAS ecosystem.

Israel’s Defense and National Authorities Completed a Series of Successful Tests on an Innovative Multi-Purpose Robot by Trexmatic, Designed to Protect Borders and Facilities Using ParaZero’s DefendAir System Against Hostile Drones

The trial was conducted in real-life conditions in Israel and tested the DefendAir turret configuration ability to intercept hostile drones using an advanced optical detection and tracking subsystem. The system achieved 100% interception success in the demonstration, proving its effectiveness in protecting critical infrastructures and sensitive sites.

The turret configuration complements ParaZero’s existing portable, hand-held net gun configuration, expanding the company’s multi-layered defense portfolio with both mobile and stationary solutions ideal for defense and homeland security applications.

ParaZero’s DefendAir Stationary Turret system is a next-generation counter-drone solution designed to safeguard critical infrastructure and sensitive facilities. The system combines advanced optical detection and tracking with an automated net-launching turret, enabling it to autonomously detect, track, and neutralize hostile drones across a full 360-degree perimeter. The DefendAir Stationary Turret expands the company’s multi-layered defense portfolio, offering governments, defense agencies, and operators of critical assets a reliable last-line of protection.
