ParaZero’s drone safety system is an end to end solution that is designed for DJI’s Phantom 4 model.

The lightweight safety system independently monitors key flight parameters of the drone’s avionic systems. The drone flight profile is collected, and monitored for anomalies. When critical failures are identified, the mechanical flight termination stops the rotors and a set of actions is triggered:

Frequently Asked Questions

How Long Does It Take to Install the System?

It should take up to 10 minutes for first installation (installation guide is included with the user manual provided with the system). You can also remove and attach the SafeAir system, after first installation, in less than a minute. The SafeAir Phantom is a Plug and Play system, all necessary parts for installation are provided.

Does the SafeAir System Interfere with the Aircraft GPS?

The SafeAir system has a negligible effect on the GPS performance. Initial GPS acquisition may take a bit longer.

Does the Parachute Eject Automatically?

Yes, this is a completely autonomous system. The parachute is triggered automatically using the independent sensors based on a predefined set of parameters. Automatic activation in cases of free fall and breach of roll/pitch angle.

How Much Altitude Does the Drone Lose Until Full Parachute Deployment?

Parachutes, by definition, lose altitude before they are able to slow the falling aircraft. Minimum safe altitude is the minimum altitude that we are confident that the system will work properly. On average the SafeAir Phantom is fully open within 9.5 meters/31.2 feet.

What is the Descent Rate?

The average descent rate is 5.1 meter per second/16.7 feet per second.

How is the SafeAir Powered?

The system is powered by a built-in lithium polymer battery and doesn’t utilize the drone’s power. The system’s battery can’t be replaced.

How Long Does the System’s Battery Last and How Long Does it Take to Charge the System?

The system’s battery lasts at least one hour in standby\arm mode after full charge. It takes about 45 minutes to fully charge the system or 20 minutes to 80% capacity.

Will the SafeAir System Guarantee that my Drone will Not Be Damaged?

The SafeAir recovery system is designed to greatly diminish the impact energy of your aircraft, reducing damage to a minimum, especially when compared to the alternative damage without the system.

Can ParaZero SafeAir Systems be Repacked after Deployment?

Yes, it can be repacked by the user. Instructions are included in the user manual (please see under Documentation). For ASTM compliant systems that are being used for flight over people, parachutes must be repacked by ParaZero or a certified repacker.

How Long are ParaZero Products Under Warranty, and What Does the Warranty Cover?

All ParaZero products have a (1) one-year manufacturer warranty or till first deployment, which covers manufacturer related defects, errors or faults with the product. For all warranty related issues, please contact us at support@parazero.com.

If I Added a SafeAir System to My Drone, Will it Reduce the Insurance Costs?

Some insurance companies may provide discounts for operators using the SafeAir system. Additional information may be found at parazero.com/insurance.

With this System, Can I Fly Over People?

While the system is designed to allow for safe and legal flight over people, in most countries, the SafeAir system alone does not allow you to fly over people. Different countries have different regulatory requirements, take the time to learn the requirements in your country before using this system. Software

In order for your SafeAir Phantom to work correctly, download the desktop application for your OS.
The application will enable firmware updates and data sync for post flight analysis.
Before connecting the SafeAir Phantom system, please power up the system.
When the application starts, please choose your drone model.
