First Ever FAA Waiver for Flight Over People with a Parachute

Powered by the world leader in drone safety systems

As seen in the news, drones equipped with ParaZero’s SafeAir system received the first FAA waiver to enable flight over people with a parachute system. The first flights using the waiver were conducted during the tailgating event prior to the North Dakota State University vs South Dakota State football game at the FargoDome on September 29, 2018. This is the first ever approval for a Phantom drone to operate over uninvolved people and provided the Cass County Sheriff’s Office with aerial coverage of the stadium premises.

Professional operators that equip their drone with ParaZero’s SafeAir system can apply for an FAA waiver to fly over people. The waiver is granted at the FAA’s sole discretion.
