ParaZero Announced as Finalist for AUVSI XCELLENCE Awards
Awards ceremony at XPONENTIAL in Chicago, Apr. 30.
ARLINGTON, Va. — ParaZero has been named as a finalist in the Safety Solutions category of the XCELLENCE Awards by the Association for Unmanned Vehicles Systems International (AUVSI). ParaZero was selected from a pool of accomplished applicants as one of several finalists. Winners will be announced during the awards ceremony at AUVSI XPONENTIAL on Tuesday, Apr. 30 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. CDT at McCormick Place in Chicago.
ParaZero believes that smart safety systems are key to unlocking the full potential of the commercial UAS industry. Therefore, ParaZero developed the SafeAir System as an end-to-end, smart solution for UAS safety.
The SafeAir System monitors UAS flight in real-time to identify critical malfunctions. The system then triggers a high-speed parachute launcher, stops the rotors, and sounds an audio-warning buzzer to alert bystanders of the falling drone.
By being the first company to secure waivers for flight over people with a parachute system, ParaZero paved the way for additional waivers and expansion of UAS safe and legal flight envelope. ParaZero’s SafeAir has since been used for additional flight over people and BVLOS waivers and approvals globally.
ParaZero is the only company with an ASTM compliant parachute system for DJI’s Phantom 4, the most popular UAS in the world. This should allow operations over people based on the FAA’s proposed rulemaking.
“The rapid growth of the unmanned systems industry is reshaping our future by expanding business markets, providing consumers with innovative solutions and even saving lives,” said Brian Wynne, president and CEO of AUVSI. “The XCELLENCE awards recognize companies and individuals who are achieving remarkable results with unmanned systems technology to benefit our communities.”
XPONENTIAL offers a broad-based and balanced educational program brimming with cutting-edge content and inspirational insights, ranging from policy implications and technical challenges to use cases and best practices across vertical markets and everything in between. The AUVSI XCELLENCE Awards honor innovators in the unmanned systems industry, including individuals and organizations, with a demonstrated commitment to advancing technology, leading and promoting safe operations, and developing programs that use unmanned systems to improve the human condition.
“We are honored to be a finalist for AUVSI XCELLENCE Awards. This is an important step for the industry to realize its full potential and enable broad operations over people” said Eden Attias, ParaZero’s CEO. “ParaZero is proud to be a finalist in the safety solution category as we have been investing years of R&D in our products to validate safe drone operations.”
